About Me
- Name: Kathryn Manzo
A hallmark of great civilizations is art that stands the test of time. Creation of well-crafted art requires a commitment to training to a high level of mastery. As an artist and teacher, I am an outspoken advocate for setting high standards based on objective criteria in the technical training of artists. The Michelangelo Project began in NYC in 1991.It offers classical fine art atelier training to young artists. Students learn drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpting techniques with the goal of attaining technical mastery. This blog has been created to enhance the education of both my teen-aged students at Lausanne Collegiate School and my adult students by “virtually” opening my private studio where commissioned portraits as well still life, figurative and landscape paintings are created. My hope is that this will enrich and enlighten artists and art lovers about the process of making art. If you know of anyone else who might benefit from this blog, please spread the word!
